UNIT 1. Border politics. Representing Borderlands: The EU Border in Africa

This video documents fieldwork in Spain’s North African enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla. Through interviews with residents and on-the-ground footage, it examines the border in its many forms: the three-layer fence separating both cities from Morocco, and the everyday borders of language, class, gender, and other lines of exclusion. The testimonies and city scenes will feed into a forthcoming documentary, as an outcome of the MigraMedia project.
