The right to be forgotten is a recent legal construction that has been regulated, for the first time, at European level, in Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data. It is a right that protects the possibility of deleting a person's data or of ceasing processing if they are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected or if they are otherwise processed, also if the data subjects have withdrawn their consent to the processing or object to the processing of personal data concerning them, or if the processing of their personal data otherwise breaches the European Regulation. All of this undoubtedly poses major challenges for the future
