In the last years, scientists have developed a new tool, CRISPR-Cas 9. It promises that gene editing will be safe and possible at some point in the future. Indeed, the first experiments are already being performed. But, is gene editing a legal practice? Under what conditions? Are we obliged to edit our descendants or should we refrain from doing so?
