Towards a digital and sustainable Industry 5.0 in Europe
Europe faces tough industrial competition, putting pressure on manufacturers to increase efficiency and reduce costs. With the threat of deindustrialization a major concern for the EU, the European Commission has recognized the need to reinvigorate the industry, and is supporting its digitalization and sustainability, also known as Industry 4.0, and its evolution to industry 5.0.
