Access to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is fundamental for full citizenship in today's society, also known as the Information Society. In this context, functional diversity (disability) currently constitutes a reason for discrimination for many people, who are unable to access the ICTs that provide entry to services related to education, employment, health, leisure, etc.

OVERVIEW
This introductory course provides an understanding and application of the principles of Design for All and Assistive Products in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), based on the fundamentals of Human-Computer Interaction.
The content of this course has been recognized with awards from several organizations: the Social Council of UNED, the ACE Course Awards, and the Universia Foundation – Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports.
OBJECTIVES
Acquisition of competencies and skills to ensure that the principles of Universal Accessibility and Assistive Products are taken into account in daily professional practice.
Raise awareness about the discrimination suffered by part of the population from the perspective of actual access to the Information Society.
Understand what a user interface is, its relationship with the concepts of ICT accessibility and usability, and the challenge posed by constant technological innovation.
Learn the fundamental strategies to guarantee ICT accessibility and usability in a sustainable manner, including business, legislation, and standardization perspectives.
Learn and apply the needs arising from disability and functional diversity from the perspective of Design for All in ICT.
Learn and apply the main characteristics of Assistive Products applied to ICT.
